Ahmed El Attar

Ahmed El Attar est metteur en scène de théâtre et dramaturge, fondateur et directeur de la compagnie de théâtre indépendante Temple Company et de Orient Productions. Il est aussi le fondateur et directeur général de la Fondation Studio Emad Eddin qui est un espace de répétition, résidences et formation pour les artistes du spectacle au Caire ainsi que du D-CAF Festival (Downtown Contemporary Arts Festival) qui est devenu depuis sa création en 2012 un grand festival de créations contemporaine multidisciplinaire d’Egypte. En 2005, Ahmed El Attar a été choisi par l’édition arabe de Newsweek comme l’une des 42 personnalités qui influencent le changement dans le monde arabe. Sa dernière création théâtrale ‘The last Supper’ est programmé au festival d’Avignon en Juillet 2015.

Ahmed El Attar is a theatre director, playwright, founder and artistic director of the Temple Independent Theatre Company and of Orient Productions for film and theatre. He is also the founder and general manager of the Studio Emad Eddin Foundation that provides rehearsal, residencies and training space for performance artists in Cairo and of the DCAF Festival (Downtown contemporary Arts Festival) that since its inception, has become a great multidisciplinary contemporary arts festival in Egypt. In 2005, Ahmed El Attar was chosen by the Arabic edition of Newsweek as one of the 42 personalities influencing change in the Arab world. His most recent theatre performance « The Last Supper » will be presented at the festival of Avignon in July 2015.
